WEEK NINE
Thursday 22nd November
- Today we made the decision to change assign the role of 'Bradley Hunter' to Matt Stainton as our original cast member couldn't make the dates we had planned for filming.
- Sunday we went out to film and planned out what time would be appropriate for filming outside due to the sun setting. We also set out the times of when we would film each section and where they would take place.
- I them moved onto creating drafts for the poster of our film. I will shoot some examples tomorrow with the cast members Emily and Matt.
WEEK TEN
Thursday 29th November
- Today I finalised one of my poster ideas with titles and final edits. I also research some more magazines to come up with some draft ideas of my own.
- Today I've set out my pages so it is easier to locate things and only created a second shot list and a final story board as our filming didn't go exactly as planned.
- This week I came to several conclusions and final decision once looking into the Audience research.
- As a group we decided it is appropriate to add music to set the tone of the horror. We want to look into 'teddy bears picnic' and alter the lyrics slightly to add our own twist.
WEEK ELEVEN
Thursday 6th December
- As a group we decided it is appropriate to add music to set the tone of the horror. We want to look into 'teddy bears picnic' and alter the lyrics slightly to add our own twist.
- This week we have looked into successful posters and why they work so well and how we can incorporate this into our work.
WEEK TWELVE
Thursday 13th December
- Today in groups we have looked into several posters for different genre and analysed then, coming up with the storyline that we think it is trying to convey. This helped us to create a poster which gives the audience an outline of the film, helping them to decide whether its something they would take an interest in.
- I then went on to animate the story board on a website called 'goanimate'. The voices aren't very realistic but it gives you a rough outline of the shots i want.
WEEK THIRTEEN
Thursday 10th Jan
- Over the holidays our group went over lea valley to shoot. We found that out previous footage wasn't enough and we needed more to fill it out. We couldnt get hold of our original actor Matt so we filmed someone else but didnt show this face. This isnt a disadvantage as hiding the face gives a mystery element as to who the killer is.
WEEK FOURTEEN
Thursday 17th jan
this week we have found that we need to film again as our footage was lost. couldnt because of snow.
then tried doing institutional tag which took an hour and we couldnt do some of the more extreme effects as you need to pay.
WEEK FIFTEEN
thursday 24th jan
looking into music and youtube videos we can use
also want to record a scream and myself singing an eerie version of teddy bear picnic for the woods portion of the film.
WEEK SIXTEEN
thursday 7th feb
this week i have been tweeking my ancilliary tasks to make the fonts colours and titles match up to elaines so that is it obvious we are advertising the same film. i have also been adding more writing to both my poster and my magazine to give the audience more of a detailed description as to what they will be watching.
WEEK SEVENTEEN
Thursday 14th feb
this week we have been trying to finialise our video and finally incorporated music alongside the recording of my voice singing teddy bear picnic with our twist. we are still looking into adding our foley sounds, possibly creating more that are more suited to our trailer.
WEEK EIGHTEEN
Thursday 21st feb
This week we have really been struggling on a way in which we can upload camtasia. Camtasia is a website which allows you to almost record what is happening on screen at the time. We wanted to record the conversation between matt and emily but the conversation will be made up of our titles and captions. This however has become a problem as we cannot open our camtasia project to upload so we are trying to covert it from a youtube video and see what happens.
WEEK NINETEEN
Thursday 28th feb
This week as a group we have been trying to find suitable music choices for our trailer to really pick up the pace. This we struggled with as no music was what we were looking for, so we tried to speed up certain tracks but this still didnt have a good effect.
We then tried to experiment by playing two tracks at a time, this worked really well and really made our trailer more thrilling.
We also managed to out together out msn chats as titles and sped them up and cropped them in the right places so that it matches up with the pace of the music.
WEEK TWENTY
Thursday 7th march
This week we pulled everything together and finished our trailer to a standard we were happy with. We then made questionnaires and set up a focus group with both a year 9 class and a year 12 class to get varied opinions. We will then look back on this to improve our trailer if necessary.
WEEK TWENTY ONE
Thursday 12th march
this week we uploaded our trailer to youtube, facebook and twitter so see how many responses or views we could get and what people thought about our trailer. We can then use the results to make our trailer better.
